One week of Brussels
So... one week in Brussels! Well, time goes by really fast here – at least for me! First impressions? Nothing has changed, a lot have changed. I changed. Water is the same – it dries my skin to the bone, I think I will finally get the chance to use all the body lotions and hand creams I have bought without a specific purpose in the last year – there is just one problem, I am here, they are... there.
The interviews for the book are coming along just fine and I am confident that at least that part of my job here will be done. As far as the other part is concerned, I not really closer to getting a job here than I was a week ago – and that I mainly my fault, because I have not sent out any CV. My boyfriend on the other hand, had a phone interview. So, as a team, we did well. I was busy updating the euroconcurs website, making a partnership for a new direction of development, writing a press release, reading about the Focused conversation method (would be great if someone would write Focused time method, I could really use that one!).
So it’s been a busy week, been out a bit during the weekend, The Welcome Fair, the Oktober Fest and, last but not least, Gare du Midi Market. A friend of mine got her bike stolen some time ago, and now she’s looking for it in the most common place where stolen bikes are sold – Gare du Midi. I don’t know why the rumor is that you can buy a stolen bike cheaper there than in the shop – the prices seemed pretty similar to the ones in the shops (where you also get a 1 or 2 years warranty included in that price). So I’ve also seen the fruit market – busy, noisy, with almost every fruit you can think of in it. Olives and vegetables too. I just know my boyfriend will love it – as for me, I am sure I’ll not go there very often. Once, for fun and the experience of discovery was more than enough for me!
Now let me show you the trendiest car around:

Looks familiar? Yes, it looks familiar to me too; just I have it in a different color.
Today we had Lebanese food for dinner. I was on dinner assist - I think my mom would be really proud of all the time I'm spending here in the kitchen...
